Cinematography is not your basic expertize, yet, what made you participate in this film project with such a peculiar theme as the world of pornography and tantric initiations?
When I read the script for the first time it really caught me. I felt it was a bit my story too.
Working in pornography is to prostitute yourself openly. I think it is not very far from the way of life when you abandon your dreams, forget to accomplish the goal of your life and spend your best years working like a modern time slave in an office of a multinational company, a bank etc, just for the money.
I chose to participate in the project because I was fascinated by the magic idea that it is be possible to transmit, through a movie, the millennial initiatic wisdom of Tantra that is very proper for the times we live in. I feel that the transformation process of the protagonist is very authentic and real.
Sociologists came to describe our reality today as the era of “porn culture”. We live in a pornographic world. It is already the third generation – since the 60s, counting 20 years for a generation – for whom pornography is the first and perhaps the only source of sexual education. This is the base of their socialization.
Whether we recognize it or not, pornography has very strong roots in today's social reality. In our story the couple of actors are part of this business disguised as a free lifestyle, that the consumer society and the main stream of today's politics also propagate.
At a point of deep personal crisis the couple decides to transform their life radically. This transformation starts with the appearance of tantric principles in their lives, through the initiation offered by a mystical woman: a female guru.
I know by my own experience that when this moment of initiation came into my life and I applied the teaching immediately, my life changed 180 degrees. Without losing the accumulated experience I was able to discover another reality that had always been there, but with my blindness I was unable to see it.
Do you really consider that the act of initiation and the discovery of lovemaking with sexual continence can have such an impact on the industry as it is shown in the movie?
It is very curious that all beings live the process of transformation, day by day consciously or unconsciously. However most people resist to conscious transformation. It comes unstoppable and every day we get closer to the so-called death. Resisting to recognize this reality is to survive and wait full of fears "that, last day".
Tantra defies this type of "reality" which is actually created by the human mind based more on fears than on experiences.
Those who apply sexual continence - the lovemaking act without loss of sexual energy – definitely revalue their vision on the couple relationship and life. If we admit that the Universe is based on the holographic principle, we can understand why Gino's transformation has such a strong impact among his "colleagues" and the consumers of porn when he offers them a natural alternative to pornography: Sacred Love.
The Indian cinematographer, Amitabh Chakraborty, said in a confession that all those who dare to speak on the subject of sacred eroticism as the possible stepping stone of mankind in their leap of consciousness level were either silenced or eliminated. Aren’t you afraid of a similar destiny?
The times have changed. On one hand the need for transformation is growing day by day, from the part of the society which is confused and immersed in a very dense matter, desperately seeking the way out of the labyrinth created by their own mind. By detouring the sexual energies, psychic illnesses occur. This discovery of the psychoanalysts in the last century already manifests on a large scale almost throughout the entire society.
The message of Tantra can be a solution for the modern man. However, the times have not changed so much to eliminate the risk of marginalization. For example the Indian spiritual teacher Rajneesh (Osho) who promoted the necessity of sacred sexuality was declared “persona non grata” in all western countries until he was finally liquidated by the lawmakers of the "civilized world". Wilhelm Reich, almost four decades before Osho, had already been promoting the need for a sexual revolution, which was finally misrepresented and diverted. He was also poisoned.
The sad reality is that even today there is a contemporary tantric master who suffers jail in Europe for his vision on sacred eros.
We have been inspired by the examples and works of all of them, however what motivates us, the creators of the movie, is our faith and not fear. We believe in what we do. We are convinced that our work is a service to Humanity.
